MIIT's 398th Announcement: 3 Models with Semi-Solid-State Batteries "Get on the Road"

On August 9, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) publicized the 398th batch of the "Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturer and Product Announcement". A total of 65 vehicle models from 19 enterprises were announced, including several popular models from key brands. Among them, three new models equipped with Qingtao Energy's semi-solid-state batteries were included in the MIIT list: the SAIC MG MG4 (Manganese-based semi-solid-state battery), the Nanjing Automobile Iveco Juxing (LFP), and the Beiqi Foton Xiangling U7 (LFP).

SAIC MG

The MG brand pure electric sedan (Model CSA7004MBEV4) is produced by SAIC Motor Corporation Limited. The manganese-based lithium-ion battery cells are provided by Suzhou Qingtao Power Technology Co., Ltd., and the complete energy storage unit is assembled by Nanjing Automobile Corporation Ltd.

Vehicle dimensions are length 4395 mm, width 1842 mm, height 1551 mm. It has a maximum speed of 160 km/h, a gross vehicle weight of 1935 kg, a kerb weight of 1500 kg, a wheelbase of 2750 mm, and tire specifications of 195/60R16 or 205/50R17.

The vehicle is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, with a rated power of 55 kW and a peak power of 120 kW. It also features an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and an Event Data Recorder (EDR). An ETC onboard device is available as an option.

Nanjing Automobile

The Iveco brand pure electric multi-purpose passenger vehicle (Model NJ6500FBEV512) produced by Nanjing Automobile Corporation Ltd. uses lithium iron phosphate battery cells provided by Suzhou Qingtao New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The complete energy storage unit is assembled by Shanghai New Power Automotive Technology Co., Ltd.

This vehicle's dimensions are length 4998 mm, width 2030 mm or 2080 mm, height 2030 mm or 2415 mm. It has a maximum speed of 130 km/h, a gross vehicle weight of 3250 kg, a kerb weight of 2400 kg, a wheelbase of 3000 mm, and tire specifications of 235/60R17LT or 215/75R16LT.

The vehicle is equipped with an ESP9 anti-lock braking system (ABS) produced by Bosch Automotive Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., and an Event Data Recorder (EDR). An ETC onboard device is available as an option. The interior offers multiple seating layouts, and the luggage compartment length varies depending on the seat configuration.

Beiqi Foton

The Foton brand pure electric van (Model BJ5033XXYEV02) produced by Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd. is equipped with a Beiqi Foton lithium iron phosphate battery, with cells sourced from Suzhou Qingtao. The motor is provided by Beiqi Foton, with a rated power of 45 kW and a peak power of 100 kW.

Vehicle dimensions are length 4905 mm, width 1810 mm, height 1960 mm. The internal dimensions of the cargo compartment are length 2800 mm, width 1760 mm or 1675 mm, height 1450 mm or 1420 mm. It has a maximum speed of 90 km/h, a gross vehicle weight of 3200 kg, a kerb weight of 1560/1620 kg, and a rated payload capacity of 1445/1385 kg.

The vehicle is equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) provided by Wuhan Yuanfeng Automotive Electronic Control System Co., Ltd., model YF9 or YF8. Options include an ETC onboard device, 360-degree camera, rear radar, rear ceiling, different color side door slide rails, wheel arch styles, and new front end and lighting styles.
